Niece's Wedding Quilt, Baby Quilt and 2 Client (Mom's Quilts)

Here is a full view of my niece's wedding quilt, I didn't have one for the last blog post....

Up close photo of a quilt I quilted for mom, it is a gift for one of her friends, a wedding quilt I 'think'...

Here it is on the frame....

My niece's friend, Crystal, opening her baby quilt from me....

On the frame....

I did straight line quilting to match the modern fabric, I see my fellow quilter Jenny Pedigo using this method and always love the way it looks on the quilts....

Close up folded....

Mom's quilt #2, Biblical Sampler, this one is also a gift for a friend! On the design wall while I decided how to quilt it.....

I decided on Jodi Beamish's Plumage, the large feathers are perfect for all the large open spaces of this quilt.....

Another closeup......

Kids are back to school and I am back to quilting!!! I am excited but it was a very fun relaxing summer!

Niece's Wedding Quilt & Teacher Quilt

Here is my niece's wedding quilt all pieced and on the design wall. This was a kit that I picked up at the local quilt shop. The fabric was already cut in the tumbler shapes, so I just needed to piece it together. I picked a green got for the backing and a brown thread for the quilting. My husband picked the panto a swirl with hearts.

3 of our nieces Alicia, Ashley and Nicole, left to right....

Close up of the quilting....For Claire's teacher's quilt this year I did a hand print tracing of each child at the Valentine's day party then I had then write their name in the middle of the palm.

I did a large bargello design for the background a gradation of green to white to blue for the grass and sky.

Background pieced together.....

Warren drew the tree, the tree was also a striped set of browns that was cut out and pieced back together...

I fused the tree and hands/leaves down and raw edge appliqued them while on the longarm....
Then I did a mctavishing design in the sky to create movement.....

3 of the hands were flowers and 1 was the sun...in the white space I did swirls....

Then for the grass I did vertical mctavishing....Here it is all done, I loved the texture....overall a very quick project...

Still catching up with projects and photos, but we are now caught up to June!!!
