Teacher Quilt & Client Rail Fence

I have fallen WAYYYYY behind with this blog AND my family blog. On top of that I (gasp!) let a client quilt leave my home without taking pictures, that's how much I have been floundering. Enough of that, here is what I have been doing.....

Here is the teacher quilt for my daughter's first grade teacher. I loved how the bright colors of the quilt fabric worked together with the crayons in their pictures, it was exactly what I envisioned.

The kids worked so hard on their pictures and they were very excited to see the final project at their end of school party. I used King Tut Papyrus on the top and So Fine Pearl on the bottom. The quilting was all freehand, so I was working from the front of the machine! I have been doing so many client quilts with pantographs that I haven't quilted from the front of the machine in almost a year.

In the borders I quilted flowers, leaves & loops. In the orange border I quilted rectangles.
Here is the label on the back....

And the back of the quilt, I loved the little birds, so groovy......

This is a client quilt I completed in May. It was the quilters first quilt and it was a gift for her mother's birthday. I used King Tut Sands of Time on the top and So Fine Toast on the bottom. The panto here is Rhapsody by Jodi Beamish. Quickly becoming the most popular panto I own.

Here is the whole top.....

Detail of top.....
Detail of center to border....
And the back, she used an almost velour type of fabric for the backing, it was so soft and it really added so depth and texture to the quilting from the back.
Close up of back....

Here is where the pictures of the client quilt that was a cowboy denim theme should be. I used a super cute panto with cowboy boots & hats, perhaps I'll email and beg for some photos. I won't make that mistake again!
