Pink Scrappy Quilt

This is the sister quilt to the Blue one I did in September. I used a dark pink variegated which blended well on the front and looked nice on the muslin on the back. I did an overall water wave design. My camera was in the car, it was very cold, therefore my pictures are all fuzzy. Unfortunately the camera did not warm up before my client came to pick up the 2 quilts.

Next week I will be working on one of my quilts, either the Biblical Block Sampler or a Baby Quilt for Baby Cooper who was born last month. I ordered a new panto for the Baby quilt, so it all depends on whether it gets here before I have time to load a quilt. I have the thread and the panto all picked out for the Biblical Quilt. Need to get more practice on pantos!

Blue Quilt

This week I finished and delivered the blue and pink quilts to my client. I was so pleased with the curlz pantograph I used for this quilt. It was Warren's idea to do a swirl pattern and I am glad he suggested it. It was a fun panto to do, the machine and I did a little dance as we twirled and twisted across the quilt. I am pleased with how the thread blends in the middle and stands out on the borders. I almost did the opposite a blue thread that would show up in the middle and not in the border. But decided to go this way since there was already so much going on in the middle. Enjoy the pictures!

Here is the whole quilt...

Detail of middle, here you can see the texture the quilting brings to the quilt...

This week I will load up the second scrappy quilt, same as the one I did 5 quilts or so ago, but with a pink color way. The kids are home half of this week for veterans day, so only one quilting day for me next week.

Sweet Pink Quilt

I finished the pink quilt up last weekend and loaded up the blue quilt that was on the design wall. I helped out in the kids school this past week 4 days, so I only ended up quilting one day, but Graham stayed for lunch that day so I got an extra hour in.

I really had fun with this pink quilt, I did a lot of custom feathers, there was so much white space that just were asking for feathers. While quilting I have been catching up on TV, I am loving a new show on HBO called bored to death and Dr. OZ's new show.

The whole quilt....

C's in the small border....

Loops in the second border....

Feathers in the outside border....

Detail work in middle....

Feathers in middle....the four sets of feathers make up a feather circle...

Outer edge of middle detail....

Finishing up the blue quilt this week, I ordered a new panto called Curlz, having fun with it and it is going fast. I only had the 3 hours this week to quilt but it is just about half done. More next week!
